I have had the privilege of working with Scott Black the past 3 years as Brand Manager for our flagship Charles Krug estate. Recently we had a reduction in workforce at C. Mondavi & Family due to economic issues caused by COVID-19, and I was forced to eliminate Scott’s position with the company.
I highly recommend Scott for any marketing/brand management position that requires a seasoned professional. Working on Charles Krug over the past three years, Scott has guided a marketing renaissance for this oldest winery in Napa Valley. His work included integral involvement with the DTC business, helping to build our visitor experience and sales there. Most importantly, he created an entirely new package for all tiers that recaptured the elegance and quality of the brand. He then extended this upgraded branding to all collateral materials and POS, creating the best pieces that we’ve ever had for Charles Krug. More recently, he led a team that created outstanding new videos on all aspects of the winery with cinematic quality. Finally, he led a challenging project to build a completely new brand website that has won awards and sets a new bar for winery websites, reflecting the heritage and luxury of this great Estate. Scott’s impact here will continue to benefit the Charles Krug brand for a long time to come.
The strongest thing I can say about any former colleague is that they are on my short list of people I would truly enjoy working with again, and definitely would hire again given the opportunity.
